The movement
What Round Table is
Round Table is an international movement of clubs for professional and business men, built on service, fellowship and self-development. RTD2 is one club within it, based in Durban.
A club for men who want to do something, not just belong to something
Round Table clubs bring together men, typically between 18 and 45, from different careers and backgrounds, who meet regularly and take on practical projects for their local community. It is not a political or religious organisation.
The movement is organised into national and regional associations of local clubs. RTD2 belongs to the Association of Round Tables in Southern Africa, itself part of Round Table International.
What members actually do
- Meet regularly for fellowship and to plan and run projects.
- Take on hands-on community work, from small local appeals to larger infrastructure projects.
- Raise funds through club-run events, then put that money directly into projects the club has chosen.
- Build friendships and professional networks that, for many members, last well beyond their time in the club.
